Therapy Through Movement

Have You Felt Disconnected Lately? Us, Too.

IT IS POSSIBLE to rebuild your relationship with your own body and cultivate kindness. I encourage you to find joy in movement, decrease your internal expectation and just move your body... go within and reflect on how moving makes your body feel. The following are intuitive movement principles, consider asking yourself the following questions prior to engaging in movement or exercise.

Will movement or exercise?...

Rejuvenate my mind and body OR exhaust and deplete me?

Enhance mind-body connection OR not allow or induce disconnection?

Alleviate mental and physical stress OR produce more?

Provide genuine enjoyment OR induce pain or dread? If your answers to the above questions indicate disconnection or exhaustion, then this is your signal to NOT participate in movement or exercise this day. You always have permission NOT to do movement or exercise; however, it can be hard to listen to those signals from day to day.

These questions serve as a simple checklist to help you reconnect to what your body is intuitively telling you!

On those days when you might NOT feel like engaging in movement or exercise, you might opt for something like breath-work or meditation. See this cheat sheet below for our favorite breathing mechanics.
